School at night – 3

Last one of these. I was completely surprised as to how the colors turned out here. Again using Provia 400 on my Canon AE-1 Program. I seem to remember the sky being a bit more pink-gold than whatever you might call this, but I fell in love with the symmetry when I was walking up to the Science building for class one night and snapped this one. 17

 

 

 

 

Here in the town I live in, Arlington, Wa, there have been several public art installations along the Centennial Trail. It is a paved trail over now unused railway that spans over 50 miles in Snohomish County. Plans are to eventually have it go all the way North to Canada, and to have it link up with another trail that you could take down to Seattle.

 

 

Ryokan, a Zen master, lived the simplest kind of life in a little hut at the foot of a mountain. One evening a thief visited the hut only to discover there was nothing to steal.

Ryokan returned and caught him. “You have come a long way to visit me,” he told the prowler, “and you should not return empty-handed. Please take my clothes as a gift.”

The thief was bewildered. He took the clothes and slunk away.

Ryoken sat naked, watching the moon. “Poor fellow,” he mused, “I wish I could have given him this beautiful moon.”
